CSE 351 Summer Instructor

June 2026 - August 2026 • University of Washington, Seattle

During the 2026 summer academic quarter, I was the instructor of record for CSE 351: The Hardware-Software Interface. I taught a class of ~40 registered students from diverse academic backgrounds and managed a staff of 5 teaching assistants of varied teaching experience. I transitioned the course assessments from a midterm exam to weekly quizzes; this model was designed to maintain academic rigor while allowing students to receive more rapid feedback about their level of understanding and seek additional support earlier in the quarter.

gem5 Educational Materials Development Research

July 2025 - Present • University of Washington, Seattle

I am involved in a research project applying CS pedagogy principles to the teaching of gem5, a computer architecture simulator. The goal of the project is to make learning gem5 more widely accessible to people of diverse backgrounds, including people who have not done research or worked with simulators before. This involves "translating" existing materials into more accessible language while adding necessary context, creating new diagrams and examples, and restructuring materials into one cohesive and easy to follow self-paced online course. I learned about computer architecture simulation, course development principles, and working in a research environment.

CSE 374 Teaching Assistant

March 2026 - June 2026 • University of Washington, Seattle

I worked as TA for CSE 374 (Intermediate Programming Concepts and Tools), a course focused on teaching key software development concepts to non-CSE major students. The class covers topics such as Linux, Bash scripting, C and C++ programming, and debugging with tools such a GDB and Valgrind. During this time, I developed a debugging interview assessment, writing both the student-facing assignment and the evaluation materials. I gained valuable insights on working with a non-major student population and on assessment development.

CSE 351 Teaching Assistant, Head TA

September 2023 - March 2025, September 2025 - March 2026 •
University of Washington, Seattle

My longest-held position is as a TA for UW's Hardware-Software Interface course. I taught topics such as memory and data, x86-64 assembly, caching, virtual memory, multiprocessing, and memory management. I also became a more confident and skilled public speaker and communicator. I taught lecture numerous times, managed the midterm exam, and maintained course materials. I became head TA in Fall 2025 and held the position for two quarters until my departure from the course; in this role, I acted as a crucial point of contact between the TA staff and the instructor.

CSE 451 Teaching Assistant

March 2025 - June 2025 • University of Washington, Seattle

I spent a quarter TAing UW's operating systems course, CSE 451. I learned about how to debug complex kernel-level student code, review and provide constructive feedback on student design documents, and discuss topics such as exceptional control flow, scheduling, paging, and file system management.
